Delhi Police to control CCTV project

A panel set up by Delhi L-G Anil Baijal has said Delhi government’s flagship CCTV project will not be controlled by the AAP government but will be under the L-G via Delhi Police. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal called the panel “illegal” and directed PWD Secretary Manoj Parida to propose the installation of one lakh cameras in the next cabinet meeting.

Humsafar Jodhpur Bandra Express flagged off

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal flagged off Humsafar Jodhpur Bandra Express at Bhagat Ki Kothi Railway Station in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur. Adequate arrangements have been made in the trains, including mobile charging points, CCTV and Bio Toilets. Railway projects worth over Rs 13,000 crore has been undertaken in Rajasthan. Humsafar Express are completely 3-tier AC sleeper trains.

Now, CCTV units must for commercial buildings

The pressing need for enhanced monitoring of public spaces has finally bean recognised by the Chennai Corporation. The Corporation council adopted a resolution approving amendment to the Chennai City Municipal Corporation. Building Rules 1972 that makes the installation of CCTV systems mandatory for all commercial establishment and public buildings. The resolution follows instructions to the civic body from the state govt. for taking adequate measures pertaining to installation of CCTV cameras in such buildings where people gather in large numbers. The Corporation, should ensure that the CCTV system is installed after the building is completed.
