Pant named Emerging Player of IPL 11

Delhi Daredevils wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was named Emerging Player of IPL 11. Sunil Narine also picked up two awards — Super Striker and Valuable Player. Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson (735 runs) got the Orange Cap while Kings XI pacer Andrew Tye (24 wickets) got the Purple Cap.

Pankaj Roy, Gaekwad to get Lifetime Award

30 : Former India batsman and two-time national coach Anshuman Gaekwad and former opener, late Pankaj Roy, have been recommended for the prestigious Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement award by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).The cash prize for the award is ` 25 lakh each. The BCCI Annual Awards will be held before the historic Test between India and Afghanistan in Bengaluru.

Colin Munro Hit Three T20I Centuries

New Zealand’s Colin Munro slammed a belligerent century in the T20 international against the West Indians.Munro hit as many as 10 sixes and three boundaries as he scored 104 runs off 53 deliveries to power New Zealand to their biggest ever T20 score. Munro also became the first batsman in the history of T20 internationals to slam three centuries.

Jasprit secured top Spot in ICC T20

1 : Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah climbed to the number one spot in the latest ICC T20 rankings while his fifth-ranked team could go as high as second if it beats New Zealand in the three-match series beginning. Bumrah, who attained a career-best third position in the ODI rankings, has regained the T20 top spot. India captain Virat Kohli also got top ranking in ODIs.

South Africa’s wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock was named ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year. Carlos Brathwaite of the West Indies won the ICC T20 International Performance of the Year award. Bangladesh fast bowling sensation Mustafizur Rahman was named ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year. Afghanistan’s Mohammad Shahzad also won the ICC Associate and Affiliate Cricketer of the Year.
