New simulator to be installed at airport

A new Air Traffic Integrated Simulator Training Centre will soon came up on the Air Traffic services premises at the Chennai Air Traffic Services premises at the Chennai Airport. Giving details about the new facility, D. Devaraj, Regional Executive Director, Airports Authority of India, Southern Region, said the simulator is an advanced electronic tool to training air traffic contractors. The AAI had already floated tenders for obtaining the simulator, which would help in providing training to fresh recruits. It would be also useful for these undergoing refresher courses. The  

 20 crore equal equipment is expected to be installed on the Chennai Air Traffic Services premises within six months, he said. The syllabus for the course and the duration would be decided once the simulator is installed, he said. An integrated training module would be created, which could be used by all the Air Traffic Controllers across the country.
