Ambani gets another 5 years as chairman

Shareholders of Reliance Industries have approved giving Mukesh Ambani another five years as the chairman and managing director of the company. Ambani has been on the board of RIL since 1977 and was elevated as chairman of the company after the death of his father Dhirubhai Ambani in July 2002. Reliance Industries is India’s second most valued firm after Tata Consultancy Services.

The GDPR is a comprehensive set of directives put in place by the European Union to protect the personal data of all its citizens. First company to achieve Rs 7 lakh crore m-cap

Tata Consultancy Services’ market valuation briefly crossed the Rs 7-lakh crore mark on May 25, 2018, making it the first company to achieve this milestone. TCS is the country’s most valued firm, followed by Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and Hindustan Unilever Limited. TCS recently became the first Indian company to close the trading session with over USD 100 billion market valuation.

Tata Consultancy Services has moved closer to the $100 billion mark in market capitalisation as its share price surged nearly 7%, adding about $6.2 billion to its valuation.The IT major is set to be the first listed Indian company to achieve this milestone. TCS is the leading the chart as the most valued firm followed by Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ITC and HUL.

Tata Sons appoints new Group Chief HR Officer

Tata Sons has appointed long-time group employee Nupur Mallick as its new Group Chief Human Resource Officer.Currently, Mallick is director, Human Resources for Tata Consultancy Services in the UK and Ireland. She will take over from S. Padmanabhan who will continue to be executive chairman of Tata Business Excellence Group and head, Sustainability Group.

Tata Consultancy Services announced that its customer BNP Paribas Securities Services teamed up with Tata Consultancy Services. It aims to deliver a blockchain¬ based platform, Corporate Event Connect. It is an innovative Blockchain based platform, which will provide fast, accurate and secure corporate event announcements to clients around the world.

TCS ends RIL’s 23-year run as most profitable firm

After 23 years, India has a new numero uno when it comes to net profit. Information technology major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) posted a net profit of Rs 5,328 crore for the quarter ended December, overtaking long-standing champion Reliance Industries Ltd. In Indian business history it’s the first time that an IT company has topped the profit charts. TCS has also become the world’s third largest employer of people in the technology sector, with over 3 lakh employees. And given the pace at which it is growing, it could become the second largest employer this year, crossing Hewlett-Packard, and would be fast closing in on leader IBM.
