IIT D sign MoU with AIIA to validate Ayurveda

An agreement was signed between IIT Delhi & the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) under which projects would be launched that would aim to give “scientific validation” to the Ayurveda and integrate it with technology. The projects would be funded by the Ayush Ministry. The agreement was signed at a conference of the heads of Ayush Institutes on ways to induce modernity in Ayurveda.

PM Modi Leaves on 5-Day Visit to Sweden & UK

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on a five-day visit to Sweden and the UK. The visit to the two nations aims at enhancing bilateral cooperation in key areas like trade, investments and Science & technology. On the first leg of his visit, the Prime Minister will attend the first-ever India-Nordic Summit at Stockholm, which will be co-hosted by India and Sweden. In London, Mr Modi will take part in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting being hosted by the UK. Nordic countries include Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. Sweden Capital- Stockholm, Currency- Swedish krona. he United Kingdom Capital- London, Currency- British pound.

Shimla got its 1st grid-connected solar plant

Himachal Pradesh (HP) Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated the first grid-connected solar power plant in Shimla having a capacity of 35 KW, installed on the rooftop of the Department of Environment, Science and Technology.The power generated by the solar plant would be consumed by the Department building. The remaining power would be sold to the HP State Electricity Board Limited.

NITI Aayog Signs SOI with SAP

NITI Aayog‘s Atal Innovation Mission signed a Statement of Intent with SAP to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. SAP will adopt 100 Atal Tinkering Laboratories for 5 years to nurture the science, technology, engineering and maths learning among school children. This will enable students to learn advanced topics relevant to digital transformation and the Internet of Things.

106th ISC to be held in Bhopal

General President-elect Manoj Kumar Chakrabarti announced that the 106th edition of the Indian Science Congress will be held in January 2019 at Barkatullah University Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The theme for 2019 ISC will be ‘Future India: Science & Technology’. 105th Indian Science Congress concluded at Imphal.
