Rajnath to chair 2-day plenary meet

A 2-day plenary meeting of NE Council will be chaired by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Shillong. He will discuss development projects with the Governors and CM of northeast states in the presence of Union Minister for Development of NE Region. Some of the major issues set to be discussed at the meet would be water resources management, POSHAN Abhiyan, road connectivity, and more.

Mongolia to develop country’s 1st refinery

Mongolia to develop country’s first oil refinery at Stantsiin Hooloi in Altanshiree Soum with the help of a USD 1 billion loan from India. The home minister, Rajnath Singh is on a 3-day visit to Mongolia to strengthen India’s relations with Mongolia and security cooperation. Engineers India Ltd. will assist with construction of the refinery, which will boost Mongolia’s GDP by 10%.

Rajnath Singh Launches Web-Based App e-FRRO for Foreigners

Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched the web-based application e-FRRO (e-Foreigners Regional Registration Office) scheme under which foreigners can avail, various visa and immigration-related services online. This will facilitate hassle-free travel to India for foreigners. As per the Home Ministry, the e-FRRO scheme is aimed at building a centralised, transparent online platform for foreigners to avail of visa-related services.

Centre to approach Pvt sector for health

With an aim to bridge demand and supply of the healthcare system, the Union government is planning to approach the private sector. Home Minister Rajnath Singh speaking in AIIMS convocation focused on the ways to improve the quality of healthcare through various healthcare systems. HM stated that there are many health frontiers that still need to be conquered in the country such as malaria.
