England women make highest T20 total

England made the highest total of 250-3 in women’s Twenty20 internationals as they beat South Africa by 121 runs. They overtook the previous record set by New Zealand of 216-1 against South Africa a day before. Tammy Beaumont hit 116 off 52 balls and made the second fastest century off 47 balls.

England set a new ODI world record with 481/6

England made the highest one-day international total of 481-6 as they defeated Australia by 242 runs at Trent Bridge. The England broke their own record of 444-3 set against Pakistan in 2016 at same venue. With this the England captain, Eoin Morgan became the highest ODI run scorer for his country. This is England’s biggest ODI win and Australia’s heaviest defeat in terms of runs.

De Villiers retires from international cricket

Former South Africa Test captain AB de Villiers has announced his retirement from international cricket. De Villiers made his international debut in Test series against England in 2004. He scored 8,765 Test runs and has a batting average of over 50 in both Test & ODI cricket. AB de Villiers holds the records for scoring the fastest fifty, hundred and 150 in ODIs.

Mohamed Salah crowned PFA Player of the Year

Liverpool and Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah was named Player of the Year by England’s Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA).Salah was rewarded for his performances which have yielded 41 goals in all competitions since joining from AS Roma last year. Salah has become the first person in Premier League history to claim three Player of the Month awards in the same season.

Francois Gabart breaks World Record

Frenchman Francois Gabart smashed the world record for the fastest non-stop solo navigation of the globe.He completed the mammoth feat in 42 days, 16 hours, 40 minutes and 35 seconds. The 34-year-old sailor crossed a virtual finish line drawn between the island of Ushant off France’s northwest tip and Lizard Point in southwest England at 0145 GMT.

Rs 1 currency note completes 100 years

On November 30, 2017, India’s 1 Rupee currency note completed 100 years.First Rupee 1 note was printed in England and was issued in India on November 30, 1917.It had an image of King George V (the then British monarch) imprinted on the left corner.

England won First-ever U-17 Title

England won the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup for the very first time after a 5-2 win over European U17 champions Spain. The final was held in Kolkata. Spain finished runners-up for the fourth time after 1991, 2003 and 2007.

UK heads for warmest Christmas Day ever

UK will have the warmest Christmas Day ever after a spell of unseasonably mild weather. The previous peak is believed to have been 16C in Teignmouth, Devon, last year. Ladbrokes slashes odds of previous high being beaten after cold start to December is followed by mild weather. Last year central England had the hottest December in 350 years.

India Beat England by 8 Wickets

India beat England by eight wickets in the third cricket Test at Mohali to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Resumig their second innings at their overnight 78 for four, on the fourth day,the visitors were all out for 236 runs. The hosts then surpassed the victory target of 103 runs by making 104. The first Test ended in a draw before India won the second game in Visakhapatnam.

Kohli Attain to Career High Test Ranking

Virat Kohli has jumped up to a career-high fourth position in the ICC Test Players Rankings. He shot up 10 places after a man-of-the-match performance in the Vizag Test against England. He is currently top-ranked in T20 Internationals and has also held the top position in One-Day Internationals. He has never moved above 10th place in Tests.
