CM Raman Singh launches online pension system

19 : Chhattisgarh CM Dr. Raman Singh launched an online portal and mobile app called ‘Aabhaar-Aapki Seva ka’ for the pensioners of the state. Through this app and the website, 80,000 pensioners of the state will get all the information related to pension and payment online. The beneficiaries will be provided updates via SMS regarding the status of their pension account.

Low rainfall slows sowing of cotton, paddy

Rice-growing Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh have witnessed rain deficiency which has left an adverse impact on the sowing areas of paddy. Rice and cotton are the most affected crops because of the below-normal rainfall. The country’s largest producer of rice, West Bengal received 22% below-normal rainfall, while Odisha and Chhattisgarh received 30% and 21% less rains till July 6.

Raman Singh defeats no-confidence motion

A no-trust motion moved by the Congress against the Raman Singh-led BJP Government was defeated by a voice vote in the Chhattisgarh Assembly. This was the third no-trust motion faced by the Singh government, in power since 2013. Chhattisgarh has been under the BJP rule since 2003 and will be going to the polls later this year.

Tata bagged Bharat Net’s project

Tata Projects has bagged an ` 3,057 crore project of optical fiber cable network of Bharat Net in Chhattisgarh. Important services such as 102, 108, and PDS would be effectively executed at the Gram Panchayat level and around 2.6 crore people would be benefited through the project. It will strengthen the state’s economy and enable local people to lead an easy life.

PM dedicated expanded Bhilai Plant to Nation

PM Modi inaugurated the Integrated Command and Control Centre at Naya Raipur Smart City, Chhattisgarh. Prime Minister dedicated the modernized and expanded Bhilai Steel Plant, to the nation. He laid the foundation stone for IIT Bhilai. He also unveiled a plaque to mark the commencement of phase-2 of BharatNet. The Prime Minister inaugurated air services between Jagdalpur and Raipur.

Heli-taxis between Shimla-Chandigarh

Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur flagged off a helicopter taxi service that will reduce the travel time between Shimla and Chandigarh to 20 minutes. The service, operated by Pawan Hans, can accommodate 19 persons and will charge ` 2,999 per person. The government is also planning to start heli-taxi service between Chandigarh and Manali and sortie service from Manali to the Rohtang Pass.

Intra-State e-waybills to be implemented

The e-waybill system for intra-State movement of goods will be implemented for the final eight States. The new system would be implemented for intra-State transport in Chhattisgarh, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and in West Bengal. E-way bill operations are compulsory for inter-state movement of goods throughout the nation and intra-state movement.

CRPF raises ‘Bastariya Battalion’

In a bid to enhance combat capabilities in Naxal-hit area of Bastar district in Chhattisgarh, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), for the first time, has decided to include local representation in a special unit. The special unit has been numbered as 241 and named as ‘Bastariya Battalion’. All the candidates have been selected from four highly Naxal infested district in Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh to recruit transgender in police

To promote gender equality, Chhattisgarh govt has decided to recruit transgender in the police force. Chhattisgarh is the first state to recruit transgenders for police while Tamil Nadu is the first state to hire India’s first transgender police officer. In 2014, Supreme Court declared transgender people as the 3rd gender & ruled that they have equal privilege over the fundamental rights.

Chhattisgarh awarded ‘State of the Year’

Chhattisgarh bagged the ‘State of the Year’ Award under the ‘business leader” category as part of the India Business Leadership for the increase in business and services activities.Union Information Technology and Electronics Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad gave the award at India Business Leader Awards.Chhattisgarh has been ranked 4th in World Bank’s list of ‘Ease of Doing Business’.
