Land acquisition delays for handloom project

Issues over land acquisition have delayed the ` 2 crore Integrated Handlooms Development Scheme in the state to be completed by March 2012, according to a top official from the handloom sector. B.B. Paul, Zonal Director of Weavers Service Centre that three clusters under the scheme in Kurinjipadi in Cuddalore district, Tiruvannamalai and Tiruchy were delayed due to lack of land. “Now we have identified the land and the project will be completed by March 2012”.
