KHS loses pace due to bankers’ attitudes

The unexplained “go-slow” by bankers in Madurai district to disburse loan to beneficiaries under the Kalaignar housing scheme prompted collector C. Kamaraj to warn that such an attitude will have serious implications for them including disciplinary action and withdrawal of government deposits from the banks. He said that he plans to call a meeting of all the 300 branch managers of banks in the district to get first-hand explanation from them for the tardy progress in processing loan applications. If the branch managers delay in processing applications, we will be compelled to recommend disciplinary action against them. Also we will withdraw. DRDA deposits with the banks.
