Karunanidhi gives PM a miss

Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s love for Tamil, as he chose to put it, forced him to give a miss to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who arrived Chennai on 2nd April evening. After sitting for two hours at a function where a compilation of poems of Vairamuthu was released, C.M. said he had in the process skipped a “very important duty” receiving the PM. Here the DMK potriarch likened who farmed  a pact who slept on a Murusukkattil. After the function, he drove to the new Secretariate and held discussions with officials. Karunanidhi was scheduled to meet Singh at around 8.15 p.m., but  a  “slight change” in the PM’s itinary upset it, sources said.
