Dhoni announces his retirement from Test Cricket

India’s World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirment on Dec. 30, 2014 from Test cricket shortly after the third Test between India and Australia ended in a draw at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. Dhoni, who is one of the world’s highest-earning sportsmen, has chosen “to retire from Test cricket with immediate effect in order to concentrate on the 50-over and Twenty-20 formats of the game”, a statement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India said.
