• Union Labour Ministry (Narendra Singh Tomar) will launch the National Minimum Wage Act – Minimum wage base is ` 160.
Minimum Wages Act 1948, the payment of wages Act 1936, Payment of bonus act 1965 and equal remuneration Act 1975.
• Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje signed 13 pacts valued at ` 50,527 crore with public sector undertakings in the areas of mines, cement and power sector.
• Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched a website on the life of cartoonist Rasipuram Krishnaswamy Iyer Laxman – www.Rklaxman.Com.
• Union Govt eased the panel provision by raising the limit of undeclared or mis-declared baggage that will attract arrest or prosecution to ` 20 lakh.
• Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu announced country’s first-ever double decker Shatabdi Express will run between the tracks of Mumbai – Goa.
• In 65 years Pranab Mukherjee was first Indian President to visit Jordan after Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi visit in 1988. Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated a Mahatma Gandhi street in Amman, the capital city of Jordan.
• First Indian President Pranab Mukherjee visit to Palestine (Oct 12 – 13). India offers economic and political support of $5 million to Palestine. Both nations announced five projects of$17.79 million. Al-Quds University conferred Honorary Doctorate to Shri Pranab Mukherjee and also named him as “a valiant knight of peace”. Sharia-e-Al-hind (India road) and Midan-e-Al-hind (India roundabout) in Ramallah is named after Pranab Mukherjee.
